INFORMATION ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF S8 pedestrian parapet:

There are 3 possible scenarios for your S8 parapet project.

a) For new construction work to install S8 on a base plate: the sill must be at least 260 mm wide and made of C30/37 concrete for a 1000 mm wide pavement.

The width of the sill may vary according to the width of the pavement (the wider the pavement, the wider the sill).

b) If the S8 is installed with posts to be embedded: there will be a 120mm or D150mm reservation + a 2 x 60mm embedment, i.e. 240 or 270 mm of concrete block or sill.

These dimensions vary according to the width of the pavement.

c) For work on existing structures, a calculation note from a concrete design engineer is required to determine the type of anchoring possible depending on the existing deck or sill.
