𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗚𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗗™: innovation in Bahrain

Made up of some 30 islands in the Persian Gulf, Bahrain has been an important stop on trade routes since ancient times. Also famous for its F1 Grand Prix, we took up the challenge to go to the capital Manama to present and apply 𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗚𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗗™, the only highly retro-reflective coating on guardrails.

Thus, SOLOSAR and its local partner, the company INTERLOCK, worked in consultation with the Bahrain Ministry of Public Works to carry out several 𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗚𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗗™ applications on portions identified as potentially risky or accident-prone, especially on curves. Thus, the Ministry of Public Works selected 3 motorway sites that were treated at night.

Our team first adapted the application material to the client's application machine.

The applications were carried out over more than a kilometre and above all allowed INTERLOCK's application teams to learn about the 𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗚𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗗™ system and to carry out the first linear sections themselves.

This transfer of technology will allow INTERLOCK teams to be able to carry out a lot of installations throughout the country at the request of the Ministry and further increase safety at night or in bad weather on Middle Eastern roads.

Why is this a real innovation? 𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗚𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗗™ is the first highly retroreflective paint that can be applied vertically to all types of existing or new guardrails.

Thanks to the 𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗚𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗗™ technology, we can apply the paint to steel guardrails, single or double wave and concrete guardrails at critical road locations (curves, intersections, etc. ) to make road shoulders more visible at night, helping motorists to drive more safely and calmly.
