Description
SOLOPROTECT® fish tail: the simple and robust finish for your industrial protective barriers
An end fitting specially designed to finish off a protective rail
The SOLOPROTECT® fish tail is an end fitting designed to provide a neat finish to a metal protective rail in industrial, logistics, commercial or car park environments.
Installed at the start or end of a rail, its characteristic flared shape allows the metal profile to be finished neatly without leaving a rough, straight end.
It provides a particularly simple solution for finishing protective systems made with SOLOPROTECT® horizontal rails.
Why is it called a ‘fish tail’?
Its name derives directly from its shape.
At its end, the metal rail is gradually shaped and flared, creating a silhouette reminiscent of a fish’s tail.
This shape ensures that the end is integrated into the rail’s profile and is immediately recognisable as the end of the system.
The ‘carp’s tail’ is therefore particularly suitable when a traditional, robust and straightforward finish is required.
An end fitting for industrial protection
The ‘carp’s tail’ can be used to finish off protective barriers installed around a wide range of sensitive areas:
- industrial buildings;
- warehouses and logistics centres;
- car parks;
- internal traffic routes;
- forklift traffic areas;
- access ramps;
- machinery and technical equipment;
- workstations;
- industrial doors and access points;
- storage areas;
- offices located near production areas.
The SOLOPROTECT® range is specifically designed to demarcate pedestrian and vehicle traffic flows, as well as to protect installations and equipment in high-traffic areas.
A simple solution for finishing off a row of guardrails
The fish tail is directly attached to the SOLOPROTECT® horizontal protective beams.
It allows for the creation of an end piece that is consistent with the rest of the run whilst maintaining the system’s metal construction principle.
Its main advantages
- simple finishing of the start or end of a run;
- easily identifiable flared shape;
- quick installation;
- robust steel construction;
- integration with SOLOPROTECT® guardrails;
- suitable for industrial and logistics facilities;
- hot-dip galvanisation for long-lasting use.
The system is presented by SOLOSAR as a solution enabling quick and simple installation.
A component of the SOLOPROTECT® modular system
The ‘fish’s tail’ is not a stand-alone component: it forms part of a complete guardrail system that may include:
straight rails + curved rails + C100 / C125 / IPE80 supports + connecting elements + bolts and nuts + fish’s tail.
This modular design allows the guardrail to be constructed according to:
- the length of the area to be secured;
- the building’s geometry;
- traffic flow areas;
- the equipment to be protected;
- the nature of the civil engineering works;
- the site’s operational constraints.
Where should a SOLOPROTECT® fish tail be installed?
The carp tail is particularly suitable for finishing off a protective barrier:
- along a façade;
- in front of a machine;
- at the entrance to a logistics area;
- along the edge of an internal traffic lane;
- around a storage area;
- in front of technical equipment;
- near an industrial door;
- at the end of a row of car park protection barriers.
It thus clearly marks the start or end of the protective barrier.
